Supplying Artwork to Letters and Logos Limited
- Technical Sheet
Acceptable Application Software
We work with PC’s but can usually accept Mac artwork files
too.
Vector Import Filters
These file types work best for cut vinyl graphics and spot colour
edge printing. We have no size limitation as these files can be
enlarged and reduced to any size required without losing any detail.
| * Adobe Illustrator 10 (.AI) |
* Encapsulated PostScript (.EPS) |
| * PostScript Interpreter (.EPS) |
*Corel Presentation Exchange 5/6/7 (.CMX) |
| * CorelDRAW 11 (.CDR) |
* Windows Metafile (.WMF) |
Bitmap Import Filters
These file types work great for images and four or more colour printed
jobs. The actual size of the image and Dots per Inch (DPI), needs
to be as close to the final output size as possible (if not images
can lose definition and become blurred or out of focus).
| * TIFF Bitmap (.TIF) |
* Windows Bitmap (.BMP)+ |
| * Adobe Photoshop 6 (.PSD) |
* PaintBrush (.PCX) |
| * Corel Photo-paint 11 (.CPT) |
* JPEG Bitmap (.JPG) |
Points to Note
Fonts
If the job includes fonts then it should always be checked that
we have the font available on our system. If we do not have the
font, you can ‘embed’ the font within the artwork file
or the text information can be "Converted to paths" however
we cannot subsequently edit the text.
Scans
If scanned files or vector to bitmap conversions are to be sent
on disk or other media, it is advisable if unsure to check with
our sales office resolution required for correct output size.
Colours
When files are supplied on disk or other media a colour original
or proof must be supplied for us to check colours against. If possible
colour references should be given in CMYK or alternatively Pantone
or RAL.
Software Versions
We cannot import files that have been created a in newer version
of the software than we are running, ie we run Photoshop 6 so could
not accept files in Photoshop 7.
Large files
If file sizes are over 200Mgb they become unmanageable, the artwork
can be stored at quarter actual size and at 300dpi to reduce the
file size.
Media Formats
You can email artwork to us at
team@lettersandlogos.co.uk or we can accept the following:
CD ROM (PC format)
if saving files to CD on a Mac then burn CD using the ISO9660 option,
this should then be readable on our PC, (save the document names
with PC extensions such a .eps or .tif)
Omega ZIP 100 or 250 (PC format)
3½" Floppy Disc - High Density (PC or Mac format)
